We are CPFL Renováveis, a company that generates energy from renewable sources, present in the four sources: wind power, SHPPs (small hydroelectric power plants), solar and sugar cane-fired thermoelectric plants.
We are leaders in Brazil with 91 assets, totaling more than 2.1 GW of installed capacity, distributed throughout 58 Brazilian municipalities and 8 states.
We were formed on August 24, 2011, with 652 MW of installed capacity, by the merger of assets of Empresa de Energias Renováveis (ERSA) and the renewable assets of CPFL Energia S.A. Since the beginning we have been a leader in energy generation based on renewable sources.
2012 was a year of great achievements for us. We added 501 MW of installed capacity, through the purchase of assets and the development of projects in sources such as wind, water and sugarcane biomass. We also pioneered the launch of the first solar power plant in the State of São Paulo.
Continuing the company's sustainable growth, in 2013 we added another 342 MW of installed capacity to our portfolio. It was also in that year that we became a publicly held company. We are listed in the New Market category of BM&FBovespa, the highest Corporate Governance classification of the Brazilian stock exchange.
The purchase of the assets of the company DESA made the year of 2014 stand out for us. This operation added 278 MW of installed capacity to the company's portfolio in wind and SHPP sources.
The conclusion of the wind project Morro dos Ventos II added 29 MW of installed capacity to the company's portfolio.
In 2016, we turned 5. Additionally, the year was marked by the delivery of two large projects: SHPP Mata Velha, 18 months earlier than anticipated, and the Campo dos Ventos and São Benedito Wind Complexes in Rio Grande do Norte, which resulted in the historic 2 GW mark of installed capacity in operation.
For the third consecutive year, CPFL Renováveis anticipated the delivery of more one project. With 48.3 MW of capacity, the wind complex Pedra Cheirosa makes that the Company achieve 1,308.5 MW on the wind source, consolidating its leadership in the State of Ceará.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Company anticipated the delivery of an asset. With a capacity of 29.9 MW, the SHPP Boa Vista 2 is located in the city of Varginha (MG) and became the Company's 40th SHPP, which has 94 assets in its portfolio. Its energy was marketed in the A-5 2015 auction, with a supply start date from January 2020; until this date, the energy generated will be commercialized in the free market, guaranteeing additional returns for the project. The SHPP Boa Vista 2 reinforced the Company's leadership in clean energy generation in Brazil.
